The Elko County Board of Commissioners unanimously adopted Proclamation No. 202508, designating May 18–24, 2025, as Emergency Medical Services Week in Elko County.
Staff read the proclamation into the record, noting the statute and the role EMS providers play ‘‘24 hours a day, 7 days a week’’ in providing out‑of‑hospital and life‑saving care. Chris McCann, the county EMS chief, thanked the commissioners and described EMS as a system of first responders, ambulance operators, hospitals and other providers that coordinate care in the community. "We make it easy," McCann said of local EMS access and thanked the board for its support.
After brief comments the board proceeded to a voice vote. Chair called for the ayes and the motion carried, after which commissioners and proclamation honorees posed for a photo and the proclamation was entered into the record.
