County Manager Thomas Weaver told commissioners the county is preparing six budget amendments totaling approximately $294,725 to cover unbudgeted or miscalculated items: EMS salaries, prisoner housing, legal services (noted litigation driving costs), coroner salary correction, and property tax reimbursement. The manager said the amendments will be drawn from reserves and brought forward for formal action at the April 1 regular meeting.
Commissioners asked staff to coordinate with the sheriff regarding prisoner housing numbers and stressed the need for periodic (quarterly) amendment reviews. The manager provided a summary sheet to commissioners and recommended carrying a quarterly amendments item on future work-session agendas.
