The Chattahoochee County Commission voted to authorize filing a Fiscal Year 2025 Community Development Block Grant application to the Georgia Department of Community Affairs for community facilities funding in an amount not to exceed $1,000,000. The commission also approved a separate resolution obligating $47,500 in county funds to serve as the required match and leverage should the grant be awarded.
The River Valley Regional Commission will prepare and submit the application under a Letter of Agreement with the county; the RC will perform data collection, preliminary historic and environmental assessments, public hearings and other application tasks for a fee. The county's packet notes a $750 application fee for a new application (or $500 for a rewrite) payable to the RC should the county proceed with the application.
