"The three‑member Board will bring 1‑3 recommendations for a supervisor, then the County Manager will assign the Election Supervisor," County Manager Thomas Weaver said during the Sept. 23 work session. Weaver also noted that the County Clerk is already certified and currently performs election duties. Commissioner Damon Hoyte expressed concern about separation of duties between the Board of Elections and the County Manager; Weaver and other commissioners discussed how the board’s role differs from day‑to‑day administration.
