Winfield SD 34 approves staff changes, door purchase and snow-removal contract

At the June 18 meeting the Winfield School District 34 board approved a package of personnel actions and routine procurement items. Personnel votes included acceptance of resignations from Kitchen Managers Leidy Vaca Moreno and Delia Campos Marin and paraprofessional Brittany Wozniak; approval of a transfer for Karina Fernandez to a 0.6 kitchen / 0.4 custodial assignment; hire of paraprofessional Gianna Stornello at an annual rate of $23,399; and approval of a 170-day contract for Dr. Jennifer Gendel as Student Services Coordinator at $69,307.69.
On procurement, the board authorized release of July bills on July 17, 2025; approved purchase of three replacement doors for Winfield Primary from Door Systems ASSA ABLOY for $6,299.40; and approved a snow-removal contract with Martin and Son Landscaping for $18,000. Each of those motions passed by voice vote or roll call as recorded in the minutes. The board also noted routine FOIA requests and procedure updates for information.
