Residents ask for Ackerson Road picnic-area repair; railroad crossing slated for replacement next year

During public comment at the July 3 meeting resident Bridget Burke asked Highway Superintendent Kenny Peoples Jr. to repair the end of Ackerson Road so people could use the picnic area.
Later in the meeting a member of the public noted that a railroad crossing had been patched and reported that minor repairs were expected in July or August, and that the crossing would be torn out and replaced next year. The board did not vote on either repair request at this meeting; highway staff will assess and schedule work as appropriate.
