Highway Superintendent Kenny Peoples, Jr. presented the department's recent work at the Sept. 4 meeting: stripped shoulders and ditching on Hardscrabble Road, new driveway pipe installations on Greengrass and Hardscrabble Roads, gravel hauled for Gosper Road, regrading of washboard on John Rial Road and spot-graveling on Fred Rail Road. He said the department "picked up new cab and chassis from Wester Star" and that "our new dump truck will be ready in early 2026."
Peoples submitted a fuel log for the period showing "fuel usage was 305.5 gallons." He reported that Dave at Addison Diesel is working on the 2012 dump truck, and that quotes for oil-and-stone and blacktop work were received (blacktop quoted at $99 per ton). The board recorded the operational updates for the highway fund and noted equipment-replacement planning continued into 2026.
