Bob Nichols, County Legislator, briefed the Town Board that the Hammondsport ambulance service folded and gave the county equipment, facilities and cash. "County is currently running the facility 24/7," Nichols said, and the county is operating a Woodhull facility 12 hours a day, seven days a week.
Nichols also described ongoing county expenditures related to public support — housing, food and other assistance — saying the county is spending about $300,000 a month. He noted a suit filed by the sheriff against the county remains pending.
