District 92 reviews policy updates, strategic plan progress and an AI partnership in board discussion

The board conducted a first reading of numerous policy revisions and additions scheduled for final action at the June 2025 meeting. Policies listed in the boardbook for review include revisions to the Uniform Grievance Procedure (2:260), a rewritten Title IX grievance procedure (2:265), revisions to equal employment and harassment policies (5:10, 5:20), updates on student harassment, attendance and truancy policies (7:10, 7:20, 7:70), prevention/response to bullying (7:180), teen dating violence (7:185), and a new policy addressing students who are parents, expectant parents, or victims of domestic or sexual violence (7:255).
Member Washington reported the Strategic Plan Committee has made "great progress" on mission, vision, goals and plans. The board also discussed the prospect of bringing LEAP Innovations—currently working with Lockport Township High School on AI-enhanced instruction—to District 92 staff for training. Superintendent Kirsten Frankovich noted staff development is ongoing for a new CKLA curriculum and communications about Standards-Based Grading have been distributed to families.
