The Elko County commission authorized staff to secure appraisals on two downtown properties (505 Idaho Street and 531 Court Street) as part of preliminary due diligence for a possible future administrative complex expansion, additional office space and parking. Commissioners discussed the locations and expressed support for pursuing appraisals to inform any later acquisition decision.
Chair Andreozzi disclosed a broker affiliation with one of the properties but stated he had no pecuniary interest and would participate. Staff estimated appraisal costs at about $5,000 each and the commission directed that the requests be paid from capital facilities funds. The motions to authorize the appraisals carried by voice vote; appraisal reports will be returned to the board for consideration before any purchase action.
