Behavioral health staff present final-year MHSA update; no public comment recorded

Sarah Talard of Health and Human Services presented the FY25-26 Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) annual update and said the report is late because of an extended vacancy in the coordinator position. Talard said the update covers services provided during the three-year plan and that staff hired a consultant to conduct community planning and required stakeholder outreach.
"This is the last year of MHSA... the last year and final year in a 3 year plan," Talard said, adding that staff received no public comments during the 30-day comment period and that a draft plan for the next MHSA cycle would be presented at a future meeting. Board members asked about outreach and staff noted wide participation except for disability insurers, which did not provide input despite outreach efforts.
The board closed the hearing and moved to accept the update.
