The Town of Rangeley Ordinance Committee held its annual organizational meeting Aug. 5 and moved into its regular agenda.
Chair (speaker 1) opened the session and announced the need to elect officers; a committee member moved to elect a chair. The body then nominated and unanimously approved a vice chair. On scheduling, members debated keeping meetings at 5:00 p.m. versus shifting to 5:30 p.m.; the committee voted to retain 5:00 p.m. on the first and third Wednesdays. "We will need to elect the chairman," the Chair said during the organizational items.
The committee also voted to adopt Robert's Rules of Order as its governing procedure. Members were reminded to sign annual policy packets, including the code of ethics, harassment policy, media policy and an AI policy, and staff confirmed procedures for collecting those acknowledgements.
