A staff member for Newton County Schools urged families completing student registration to verify their records in the online portal if they submitted information before the district's network outage.
"If you submitted registration information online before the network outage occurred, I encourage you to check the online registration portal to ensure that your file is complete," the staff member said. The announcement said much of registration work depends on access to digital student information and that staff are developing workarounds and alternative processes to continue serving families until systems are fully restored.
The staff member asked for patience and said leadership reviews both formal and anecdotal feedback daily to improve processes. Families were reminded that, while some system access remains limited, the district is working with state authorities to explore appropriate flexibilities at the start of the school year.
