The Silver Spring Township Planning Commission reorganized its leadership at the start of its Jan. 2, 2025 meeting, electing Raymond Brown as 2025 Planning Commission chairman and Curt Helman as vice-chair.
Chairman Raymond Brown called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. and the Pledge of Allegiance was given. On a Helman/Sandys motion the commission "appointed Mr. Raymond Brown as 2025 Planning Commission Chairman," and on a Duncan/Sandys motion it appointed Mr. Curt Helman as 2025 Planning Commission Vice-Chairman; both motions carried. The commission then approved the minutes of the Dec. 5, 2024 meeting on a Duncan/Palmer motion.
The meeting record lists commission members present as Ray Brown, Curt Helman, Ron Secary, Kelly Palmer, Randy Duncan and Pete Sandys; Mr. Doug McDonald was recorded absent. Staff present included Raymond Palmer (Township Manager), Aaron Moyer (Township Engineer), Scott Maldonado (Lead Land Specialist), Harry Kotzmoyer (Board Liaison) and Kathy Stump (recorder). Public attendance was noted in the minutes but no public comments were offered during the meeting's public-comment period.
The reorganizational votes set the commission's officer slate for 2025 and established the agenda for the session, which proceeded into reviews of land-development plans and ordinance revisions.
