Council approves change order for 2026 chip-seal project to add streets and second lift

Todd Fusier, the city’s streets and engineering director, told council crews identified additional segments that should receive chip-seal treatment and recommended a second layer on specific stretches to extend pavement life by roughly seven to ten years. He said the change order would fund added work within the existing budget and reported the cost of the change order as $98,200.87.
"That would bring the total contract up to 981,575 and 80¢," Fusier said. Council asked about the project budget and inspectors; staff confirmed the work is covered in this year’s street budget and inspectors are monitoring volume. The council voted by roll call to approve Resolution 26-063 authorizing change order #1 to the Poe Asphalt paving contract.
