Freeport honors officers for lifesaving CPR; fire staff recognized for years of service

Chief Frosto told the council that Officer Gabriel Owens and Officer Simone responded to a serious medical emergency, initiated CPR without hesitation and provided continuous emergency care until paramedics arrived.
"Without hesitation, the officers initiated CPR and worked tirelessly and relentlessly for several minutes, providing continuous emergency care while courting with dispatch and maintaining life saving efforts until paramedics arrived," Chief Frosto said, praising their actions as giving the individual the best possible chance for survival. The recognition emphasized police training and teamwork as life‑saving public service.
Manager Boyer introduced firefighter personnel actions, noting Lieutenant Chris Lowry was hired on 08/15/2006 and promoted to lieutenant on 08/10/2020, and highlighted Brandon Jacobs, a firefighter and paramedic hired on 08/09/2021. The council formally congratulated the officers and firefighters for service milestones.
