Committee to place flags on Patriot Square for National Overdose Awareness Day

Members of the SUDAK committee said they will place flags on Patriot Square to honor residents who have died from opioid or other drug overdoses, aiming to raise public awareness during the week around Aug. 31.
"We will be placing our flags on Patriot Square," Lynn Carlson said, adding the flags are expected to be displayed for about a week and that the committee will publicize the memorial on local cable TV. Members discussed timing so the display does not conflict with other local recovery events and asked about logistics and volunteers.
