ARC motions: continuance, agenda removal and demolition certificate summarized

At its Aug. 5 meeting the Tampa ARC continued the new‑construction review for 1410 South DeSoto to Oct. 5, removed ARC26‑0000340 (1810 North Highland) from the agenda at the applicant's request, and granted a certificate of appropriateness to demolish the accessory structure at 1410 South DeSoto by unanimous vote.
The Architectural Review Commission handled three procedural actions at the start and end of its Aug. 5 public hearing.
1) Continuance: Commissioners moved to continue the new‑construction portion of ARC26‑0000360 (1410 South DeSoto) to Monday, Oct. 5, 2026 at 5:30 p.m. in City Council chambers. The motion to continue was moved and seconded and carried by voice vote.
2) Agenda removal: At the applicant's request staff and the city attorney asked that ARC26‑0000340 (1810 North Highland Avenue) be removed from the night's agenda; a commissioner moved and seconded to remove it and the motion passed.
3) Demolition approval: After presentation, public comment and deliberation, the commission granted a certificate of appropriateness to demolish the contributing accessory structure at 1410 South DeSoto; Commissioner Brian Hammond moved, Commissioner John Prokop seconded, and the motion passed unanimously.
The commission also voted to receive and file the submitted documents into the record before adjourning.
