Council requests $333,801 advance of Municipal State Aid funds for road projects

City Engineer Sarff explained that cities with populations over 5,000 may receive Municipal State Aid (MSA) for qualifying roads and bridges and said MnDOT manages those funds. He told the council the city would request an advance of $333,801 in MSA funds to cover remaining state-aid costs for the 2023 Lor Ray Drive/Howard Drive roundabout project and the 2024 Sherman Street Improvement Project.
Council adopted Res. No. 23-25 to request the advance. Sarff reiterated the funds are restricted to MSA-eligible projects and that the advance process follows MnDOT guidance.
