Council approves preliminary work for Aspen Lane trunk sanitary sewer to serve new Burnett subdivision

City Engineer Sarff reported that the Steven Burnett Trust proposes a residential development in 2025 with a first phase of 24 single-family lots. To provide service, the City will need to extend a 10‑inch trunk sanitary sewer, installed approximately 35 feet deep and extending westerly across Rockford Road; Sarff said the project is estimated to cost $157,000 and includes allowances for contingencies, administrative, engineering, and financing costs.
Sarff told the council the developer will be responsible for a portion of the City's trunk sanitary sewer project, principally shared sanitary sewer manholes, and that special assessments are not anticipated. The council adopted Res. No. 29-25 to accept the preliminary engineering report and order preparation of plans and specifications.
