The North Mankato City Council on March 3 adopted Res. No. 26-25 to proceed with an orderly annexation agreement with Belgrade Township for a parcel owned by the Burnetts near Rockford Road and Raymond Drive. Community Development Director Fischer told the council the land is planned for single‑family homes and that, after the city and township approvals, "the request will go to the State for final approval."
The measure, moved by Council Member Whitlock and seconded by Council Member Peterson, passed on a unanimous recorded vote (Whitlock, Steiner, Oachs and Peterson aye). The resolution cites Minnesota statutory procedures for orderly annexation under MN Stat. 414.0325. The council did not take further land-use approvals for the subdivision at the meeting; the annexation advances the jurisdictional step required before state review.
