Council accepts revised report and calls hearing for $2.48 million Ringhofer Drive project

City Engineer Sarff presented the revised preliminary engineering report for the Ringhofer Drive Street & Utility Improvement Project (City Project No. 24-03 ABCDEF), describing a new extension of Ringhofer Drive and the construction of sanitary sewer, watermain, storm sewer, street surface and street lights. He reported that "the total estimated cost for the project is $2,477,000" and that the city had secured a BDPI grant from DEED covering $1.1 million of construction costs.
Sarff told the council staff did not initially anticipate assessing a portion of the project to the only landowners (the Port Authority) but that the city will proceed through the Chapter 429 assessment process, which requires publication of the public hearing and notification to affected property owners. The council voted to receive the report and call the assessment hearing; staff will open bids but wait to award the project until after the assessment hearing.
