Town Manager Sara J. Liscomb reported multiple operational updates at the July 28 meeting. She said that, after examining the budget and required staff classes, she did not see how the town could pay for a budget-committee member to take a class this year. She also reported that preparations for the Lobster Festival are proceeding, with a large parade and the addition of a car show and Friday-night cornhole games.
Liscomb said she will sign paperwork for the Rural Community Development Opportunity and will work with HCPC on that program. She also reported that newly placed floats do not have enough flotation and that M. Young will inspect them for possible fixes. The minutes record these managerial updates but do not show motions or votes tied to the items.
