Town Manager Sara J. Liscomb told the Selectmen on Sept. 8 that the Secretary of State "has for the third year in a row not gone out to bid for the new tabulator machines. These means Winter Harbor will not be getting one for the November Election." The announcement was part of routine Town Manager updates at the start of the meeting.
The board did not take further action at the Sept. 8 meeting. The minutes record that the personnel and administrative items raised by the manager — including a missed section of the personnel policy that will be placed on a future agenda — were noted for follow-up. The minutes do not specify any immediate alternative the town will use on election day.
