The Planning Board voted to accept an amended definition of “year‑round” for bylaw section 4.9 after public testimony from Jan Frazier of the Zoning Bylaw Study Committee and board discussion. Jan said the proposed language is clearer to the public and lawyers and reported that the Zoning Bylaw Study Committee had unanimously endorsed the wording. "A rental unit with a lease, at least 12 months," she said while urging the board to endorse the definition.
Committee member Liz moved the board accept the amended definition as presented by the Zoning Bylaw Study Committee; the motion was seconded and passed by voice vote. Board members discussed that the clarified wording would remove a perceived loophole around 10‑month occupancy and short‑term rentals and make it easier to explain the bylaw at Town Meeting.
