Marquette County to replace vaccine cooler using grants; vaccines stored via MOUs

She said the county solicited quotes, found prices had roughly doubled since the prior purchase, but secured a vendor special that reduced the final total by nearly 40 percent; the purchase will be covered by emergency preparedness and federal immunization grants, producing no impact to the county tax levy.
Sopha explained temporary storage arrangements under memorandums of understanding with surrounding health departments and noted contingency measures: "We have portable coolers that can hold the vaccines at the proper temperature for over 24 hours, so we can continue to keep our inventory safe," she said. The department said staff coordinated pick-ups so the vaccine closest to a caller's location is delivered and returned the same day.
