Marquette County absorbs REHA program; new inspector to start June 30

Marquette County Health Officer Jayme Sopha told the Board of Health that the county has transitioned three positions previously employed by Waushara County into Marquette County’s REHA program and that staffing is now underway. "Jessica's first day officially was June 2nd," Sopha said, and the department has an accepted offer for another qualified inspector who is scheduled to start June 30, 2025.
Sopha told the board that renewals have generated an increase in mail and that there were some issues with the state database but otherwise operations have proceeded smoothly. She said the department will present a plan for onboarding a third position once she has a firm understanding of the program’s revenue sources, noting the hire depends on identifying sustainable funding streams.
