Council authorizes negotiations with Inberg Miller Engineers for Bicentennial subdivision design

Project manager Toman told the council Inberg Miller "received the highest overall score" and that the design cost will be funded through the Fix Our Road fund with an $80,000 design budget. He also reported the fund balance is just over $4,000,000 with roughly $2,600,000 already committed this year.
Staff said the project area includes Independence, Liberty and Flag drives near North Sunset Drive and noted underground drainage, undersized water lines and some sewer concerns that an engineering design would address to make a longer‑lasting pavement fix rather than a short resurfacing.
Council voted to authorize staff to begin negotiations with the top‑ranked firm; the motion passed by voice vote. No dollar amount for the negotiated design contract was finalized at the meeting.
