Grosse Ile Board approves consent items, budgets, tax-rate request and multiple school projects

The Grosse Ile Township Schools Board of Education approved a slate of routine and substantive items at its June 23, 2026 meeting, including payment of May bills totaling $2,765,758.74 and motions adopting a final amended 2025–26 budget and a projected 2026–27 budget. Vice President Nadia Tonova called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m., and the session adjourned at 8:23 p.m.

Board members voted unanimously with six yeas and one recorded absence on several motions: approval of the agenda (moved by Jeffrey Anderson; seconded by Dr. Daniel Murphy), consent grouping that included payment of bills and minute approvals (moved by Dr. Daniel Murphy; seconded by Jeffrey Anderson), the 2026 tax-rate request (moved by Angela Sukockas; seconded by Dr. Daniel Murphy), the 2025/2026 final amended budget (moved by Jeffrey Anderson; seconded by Dr. Daniel Murphy) and the projected 2026/2027 budget (moved by Angela Sukockas; seconded by Daniel Mercer). The board also voted to move into a closed session under Section 8(1)(h) MCL 15.243(1)(g).
