The mayor updated commissioners that the courthouse roof replacement is complete and that new work inside the building is underway with an expected return by March 10. He said recent heavy rains produced no leaks and the building's interior is being refurbished after removal of old carpet and other work.
The mayor also said the county gained about 110 parking spaces from reconfigurations and that ADA-compliant upgrades were paid for using CARES Act funds. Finance staff told commissioners they will begin budget scheduling next month and will work weekly until the budget is prepared. Commissioners noted they had no budget resolution to consider at this meeting and expressed appreciation for staying within budget.
