The Marquette County Planning and Zoning Committee voted 5-0 on June 5, 2025 to approve a rezoning application from Paul and Susan Leverich and to forward the proposal to the County Board for final amendment approval scheduled for June 17, 2025.
Planning & Zoning Administrator Jean Potter summarized the application for the committee and the applicants — Paul Leverich and J.R. Julka — explained they sought the rezone of approximately 22.97 acres in Section 25, T16N R9E in the Town of Harris to facilitate land transfers between parties. Committee member Dave Benson moved to approve and forward the amendment; Dave Krentz seconded and the motion carried 5-0. Committee members voting yes were Judi Nigbor (Chair), Dave Benson, John Bennett, Kathy Jo Locke and Dave Krentz.
The parcel described in the application includes part of the southeast quarter of the northwest quarter and the southwest quarter of the northeast quarter (Parcel D), with the property address listed as N5504 11th Road, Montello, WI 53949. The committee took no additional conditions or amendments during the hearing and elected to send the matter to the County Board for its final action on June 17, 2025.
Next steps: the County Board will consider the amendment at its meeting on June 17, 2025; any final change to zoning takes effect only after County Board action and any required recording or administrative steps.
