At its June 3 meeting the Marquette County Property Committee voted to authorize asbestos testing for the Clerk of Court office area. B&G Superintendent Paul Van Treeck presented a quote: $450 for asbestos testing plus up to $200 in sampling (total estimated $650–$1,000). The committee moved forward with testing using the special projects budget line.
Treasurer Jody Myers reported the Village of Oxford tax-deed parcel received a highest bid of $18,250 and that the county has approximately $6,082.18 invested in the property. The committee set the starting sale amount at $7,000 and agreed to keep the property listed and open until Aug. 1 for potential bidders.
