At the June 2 Human Services Board meeting, Jan Krueger delivered a presentation on Adult Protective Services (APS), outlining statutory responsibilities, recent screening and referral changes, and local capacity constraints. Jan said Marquette County "has one APS worker with Jan as a backup" and noted 2025 figures are showing an increasing trend compared with 2024.
During the Director's Report, Mandy Stanley and board members discussed facilities needs related to the Food Bank. The board approved a motion by Peggy Krause to purchase and install a Pulvermacher cooler/freezer indoor unit for up to $106,000, to be paid from Food Bank carryover funds. The motion carried. Supervisors requested clearer financial reporting and some members asked for follow-up meetings to better understand voucher reports and billing processes.
