Superintendent flags transportation 'bumps' as staff update driver recruitment and student-count plans

Superintendent Ben Kirby updated the Finance Committee on operational matters, noting the start of the school year is generally smooth but with transportation issues that staff are triaging.
"The beginning of the school year is running smoothly, except for a few bumps in Transportation," Kirby said. He said staff will meet to triage issues and plan for the next school year and card distribution. Kirby told the committee the bus driver job description has been updated and reposted and that there are new applicants.
Kirby reminded the committee that Oct. 2 is student count day and reported that Ada Drive will be under construction Sept. 11 and 12, creating detours in that area. The meeting adjourned at 9:01 a.m.
