The Forest Hills Board of Education approved payment of bills for July 2024 totaling $14,301,901.27 (General Fund $13,357,441.59; Capital Projects Fund 2021 $841,245.07; various special revenue funds) as part of the consent agenda on Aug. 19.
The board also authorized district purchasing actions and construction contracts: local purchasing options for diesel fuel were approved for the 2024–25 school year at an amount not to exceed $400,000; Allied Electric was authorized to relocate a secondary power line at Eastern Middle not to exceed $94,000; and Parkway Electric was awarded a contract for Fine Arts Center work at a total cost of $298,781 (including contingency). Additionally, the board approved a reimbursement of $10,828.21 to Kent County for refunded property taxes.
These financial approvals and contract awards were adopted as consent-group items and carried on a 7–0 roll-call vote when the consent package was approved. The approvals provide staff authority to execute contracts and purchasing within the stated limits as the district prepares for the 2024–25 school year.
