Finance staff report bond and budget updates; EHS cell tower project paused

Finance and operations staff briefed the Curriculum Committee on district construction and budget activity at the Aug. 14 meeting. Assistant Superintendent Julie Davis provided a bond construction update, said auditors will be on-site next week, and reported that "The EHS cell tower project has been paused." She said handheld unit connectivity at EHS has been enhanced as a security mitigation following the pause.
Davis also listed several procurement items the district will send to the Board for approval, including diesel fuel purchase, Allied Electric (EMS), Parkway Electric (FAC) and one property tax refund. Member Maggie Terryn asked about spending under the Section 35J grant; Davis and Assistant Superintendent Scott Haid clarified that "the Section 35J grant spending was set up with a 2-year planned approach." No committee vote is recorded in the minutes for those recommendations.
