Julie Davis, Assistant Superintendent of Finance and Operations, gave the Finance Committee a bond construction update on Aug. 13 that covered multiple projects across the district.
"The building will be ready for occupancy on the first day of school, August 21," Davis said regarding Ada Vista, noting the final follow-up inspection was scheduled for Aug. 15. She reported only minor issues at Pine Ridge and said entrances at Eastern Middle were altered after a secondary power line relocation to accommodate construction and traffic patterns.
Davis outlined longer-term projects: dirt and trees are being moved for Eastern High's athletic-field relocation and turf with anticipated completion in Spring 2025; Northern High athletics work is underway with a Spring/Summer 2025 target; paving is complete at Knapp Forest, Meadow Brook, Central Middle, Central Woodlands and Operations; Central High is in design-development with bidding targeted for November; and an Aquatic Center is in early schematic-design with a focus-group concept review completed in July. The Bond Facilities Team requested two board members to meet quarterly with architects and construction managers.
