Assistant superintendent details curriculum purchases and teacher training

Scott Haid, Assistant Superintendent for Instruction, told the Forest Hills Public Schools Finance Committee on Aug. 13 that curriculum staff are prioritizing training for new teachers and administrators and are preparing several instructional purchases.
"Curriculum is very busy with training for new teachers, and new administrators," Haid said. He said the instruction office is presenting proposed purchases to the Board for NWEA MAP Reading Fluency, Math 180 materials for secondary special education, and a digital subscription to Everyday Math.
The committee heard that the purchase recommendations will be forwarded to the full Board for consideration. The proposed amounts for those items were later listed on the committee action agenda (Math 180: $94,200; NWEA MAP Reading Fluency: $62,200; Everyday Math digital subscription: $79,000).
