Chair David N. Turner presented policy updates provided by the District’s policy service, Miller Johnson, as a first reading. Revisions were described to comply with legislative and federal requirements: Policy 3001 (Curriculum Development) to address Title I equivalence assurances; Policy 4003 (Conditions of Employment) to align with the reinstated Earned Sick Time Act; Policy 4004 (Evaluations, Discipline and Discharge, Resignations) to remove a now-removed statutory requirement for performance-based compensation; and Policy 5008 (Meal Charge/Food Services) to reflect ongoing changes in state school meal requirements.
Turner said these changes will be presented for action at the Feb. 11, 2025 regular meeting. The board treated this as a first reading; no formal vote on policy revisions was taken at the Jan. 21 meeting.
