Commission approves AV and video-conferencing upgrades for chancery courtroom

Commissioners approved Resolution 022425007 to purchase new AV/video-conferencing equipment for the chancery courtroom and related courtrooms so the court system can resume in-person jury cases and continue hybrid operations where required by the state.
Commissioner Bobby Couch presented the resolution and described it as purchasing a new system for multiple court rooms. As introduced: “This would purchase a new system for both courts, 4 rooms in the courthouse.” The county will share the cost with the court system and use reserve funds for the county’s portion. The chair called the question and the resolution passed on the recorded vote called by the clerk.
Commissioners said the equipment will prevent temporary wiring problems and supports state-mandated video access for certain proceedings. Implementation will proceed ahead of courthouse renovations so the systems can be installed neatly before finishes are completed.
