The Lake Shore Board of Education on Oct. 20, 2025 held a closed student-discipline hearing at the parental request and voted 5-0 to recommend the expulsion of student number 520008466. Board member Amy Thomas-August moved the recommendation to expel; the motion was seconded by Keneth Gulock. The board recorded two members absent: Susan DeLong and Elizabeth Munger.
At the special meeting at the district administration offices in Saint Clair Shores, the board first moved into executive (closed) session "to consider a student expulsion recommendation," a motion made by Board member Amy Thomas-August and seconded by Amber Hildebrand; that motion passed with five yeas and two absences. After the closed session, Thomas-August moved, and Wendy Tobias seconded, a motion to return to open session; that motion also passed 5-0 with two absences. The final motion, "Recommend the expulsion of student number 520008466," was made by Amy Thomas-August, seconded by Keneth Gulock, and passed with the same 5-0 (absent 2) tally.
