City management cautioned commissioners that asbestos handling could increase project cost significantly — "we're gonna have to look at it because it's gonna be, let's say, $20,000 more than it currently would be," the city manager said — and that the city would place abatement costs on property liens while covering interim outlays. Staff will provide differentiated bids (abatement-only vs. abate+demo) and return with cost estimates at the next meeting.
