City says crews fixed trip hazards and is 'in the running' for a roughly $3.4 million grant

Public-works staff said the city is “in the running to possibly get some grant money, a fair amount like $3,400,000” for broader improvements but cautioned the award is not yet official. Staff described the grant as a competitive opportunity that incorporates many identified needs; they asked the community to keep their fingers crossed as the application/review process continues.
The manager also invited residents to a Paint the Town Purple event at Central Park and noted National Night Out details; those community events were promoted alongside the public-works update.
