Staff told trustees the library will run a library‑card sign‑up campaign in September and previewed a new set of trading cards and mystery packs tied to the month. "We're gonna have a big event for that... September is library card sign up month, and we have a whole campaign built around library card sign up month with a program, new trading cards," Shelly Alexander said during discussion of next steps for the summer program.
Staff also announced a limited‑edition 80th‑anniversary library card developed with the city; the Friends of the Library will have exclusive rights to sell anniversary merchandise and the special card will be available during sign‑up events. "This is the official, limited edition 80th anniversary, library card... We'll bring those out during library card sign up month," staff said. Trustees were given one card each and staff said additional details and promotional plans would be shared before September.
