Howell board approves handbook, trips, hires and capital bids in unanimous votes

Howell Public Schools Board President Tarara called the Aug. 11 meeting to order and the board moved quickly through a set of action items, approving the 2025–26 Student/Parent Handbook, postseason overnight co‑curricular trips, two administrative hires, a tennis court resurfacing recommendation and curriculum as presented.
Board members recorded unanimous votes on each item. The board approved the Student/Parent Handbook on a motion by Trustee Bedford supported by Treasurer Conn; the motion carried 7‑0. The board also approved postseason overnight trips (motion by Zurek, supported by Bedford), and later approved curriculum recommended by the i3 Board sub‑committee on Aug. 6, 2025 (motion by Zurek). Each vote was recorded as unanimous.
