Henefer receives Truth in Taxation briefing; council hears updates on water, pump and road work

Mason Kjar, Henefer’s legal counsel, provided training on Truth in Taxation and the town’s revenue sources, and councilors gave brief operational reports.
Mason Kjar said, "Truth in Taxation is part of the budget process," and explained that the town receives small amounts from property and sales taxes, with any rise in residents' property tax mainly driven by the school district and emergency services. In brief reports, Councilor Steven Dallin said water leaks at the cemetery are being repaired and Councilor Chad West said a secondary pump’s electric system is overheating and shutting off. Mayor Kay H. Richins told the council that town roads will be paved soon.
The council also approved two sets of meeting minutes and adjourned at 9:58 P.M.
