The council opened a public hearing on sewer impact fees and potential rate structures and discussed requests for proposals for an impact study.
Ty Bailey explained the town is required or recommended by the state to have a sewer impact study and that different bids were discussed. Residents including Kent Trussell urged the town to solicit more bids and Karen Ovard recommended charging higher fees for larger homes. After discussion, Chad West moved to designate Ty Bailey to complete the sewer impact fee study; the motion passed unanimously. The impact study "will take a few months to complete," and staff will return with recommendations once the study is finished.
No changes to rates were adopted at the meeting; the study and any proposed fee changes will be brought back to the council for consideration.
