Trustees approve resolution to standardize village water meters ahead of grant applications

Trustees voted to adopt a resolution to standardize the village's water meters so Green Island can move quickly if grant funding becomes available. Staff told trustees the change formalizes the meter type used when replacements are needed and positions the village to pursue anticipated grant awards.
"We haven't been awarded the grant yet but we just want to have our ducks in a row so that once or if we are awarded the grant funding we have everything in place to go forward very quickly," Becky said. She explained the village is currently replacing failing meters with Neptune meters equipped with a radio head and that the meters remain on the outside of customers' homes.
