Glen Cove board thanks voters after budget passage, highlights student achievements

The Glen Cove City School District board on May 20 thanked voters for approving the district budget and highlighted recent student accomplishments across academics, arts and music. Superintendent Dr. Dashner told the board, "Last night, we passed our budget, so we just wanted to thank all of you for supporting the Glen Cove City School District." The board then approved routine instructional, finance and operations agenda items by recorded voice votes.
Dr. Dashner used the superintendent's report to showcase district recognition and student work: he noted theater education honors, student presentations from elementary and middle schools, and students qualified for a state math championship. The board approved instructional items (Committee on Special Education and Committee on Preschool Special Education), finance item 8A (numbers 1 and 2) and operations item 8B (numbers 1–5); each motion passed by the board with affirmative voice tallies recorded as "7."
