Greg Jacobs, a Lucas resident, addressed council during public comment to request consideration of a future reconstruction of Orr Road (County Road 317) from Wenningkopf Road to north of East Forest Grove Road. Jacobs described the pavement as being in “severe disrepair” with extreme rutting that forces motorists to drive near the center of the roadway and said some rutted areas may be up to a foot deep.
“I consider that a safety hazard,” Jacobs told the council, and asked the city to include the roadway in future pavement-reconstruction planning. City staff thanked him for bringing the issue to the council’s attention and indicated the public comment would be considered in road planning discussions.
